I think I know the difference between series 70 and 80. ( no firing pin safey and 3 prong bushing) However, I see series 90 on the Double Eagle pistols and the Defender and New Agent. Does anyone know what distinguishes a series 90 colt? Thanks.

It refers to models introduced post-1990. It includes the Defender, the Double Eagle, the Pocket Nine, the Mustang and Pony (and, I guess, the Government .380). I didn't know the New Agent was considered a Series 90. They must regard it as a variant of the Defender.

Series 90 does not indicate any special mechanical features, AFAIK.

Thanks for the info, I saw pix of a New Agent on Gunbroker that had Series 90 on the slide.

Hawk is right on. It is still a Series 80 (the Defender and New Agent) but I believe they changed it from Series 80 so as not to date the pistol too bad.

Agree. It is more of a marketing thing than Series 70 versus Series 80.
