View Full Version : LW Commander Feed Ramp Q

I own a Springfield LW Champion. The gun has a ramped bull bbl with built in polished feed ramp. So there are no issues with a feedramp that is milled into an alloy frame.

I am wondering how the feedramp is constructed in the LW Colt Commander alloy frame? It the feedramp part of the alloy frame? Or is it part of the steel bbl like my Springer.

I do not like the idea of a feedramp milled into alloy for obvious reasons.

Thanks in advance.

The stock LW Commander's feed ramp is alloy like the rest of the frame. As long as the surface hasn't been polished to the point of removing the thin, hard anodizing, it won't be a problem unless you use magazines that let the follower rock forward into the ramp during the last round feed. McCormick Powermags and Shooting Stars...or any design that uses the Devel-type follower are the killers. Standard 7-round magazines don't present a problem with feed ramp gouging.
