My father gave me a colt that he bought sometime in the 1980's. It is a two-tone combat elite. (Blue slide, stainless frame). I have seen this model in 10mm and in an officer's size .45. Does any one know the history of this model? What were the years of production? Is there anything besides possibly the finish that makes it different than any other series 80? Has anyone ever seen one in a commander size?
Thanks

Thanks for the links. That helps answer some of my questions. I will work on getting pix, I am having camera trouble at the moment. Mine has the spur hammer, fixed sights and round top slide. It is bone stock, complete with the box.

Looking forward to pix. You got yourself an early pre-enhanced model.

I personally have the opinion that the early ones are more "collectible" then enhanced ones.....but just my opinion. Can't wait for the pics........
