Anyone have any experience with changing front sight on the Colt XSE. Current sight is a factory dovetailed white dot .185" high. Can I use any Novak styled dovetailed front sight? Photos attached

It is a non-standard dovetail.
Trijicon and Champion make tritium sights.

As already stated, the Colt XSE front sight dovetail is a proprietary size. Among the others mentioned, XS Sight Systems make a set of their 24/7 Big Dot tritium sights for the XSE Colts. Here's my XSE LWT Commander with the set I installed on it.

Are those sight a drop in part or is there a considerable amount of file fitting to be done?

Yeah, I know the grip safety needs to be media blasted... (actually the whole thing needs ion-bond)
The rear Novak was a drop in, it fits much tighter than the stock Champion but nothing a nylon punch could not handle. John Harrison put the front one in since he had an order he could add the front to, but he did not indicate he had to do (or charge me for) anything other than exchange the sight in the dovetail. BTW Trijicon is unaware they make a sight that fits, I can get you the part number tomorrow for a Commander height.
You working on a Government or a Commander?

Robert,
That is the trijicon part number? So I could in theory call them and order that? Thanks!
P.S. Yup, mine is a Commander, too.

Yessir, that is what it says on the package.
Reviewing the website that makes sense, looks like the rear that comes in that set is the one used on the XS with the little extra hook at the rear.

Thanks, buddy! I'll have to give them a jingle in the near future. :)

Well, they are made for the pistol's dovetails, but there is, of course, some file fitting necessary. Quick and easy work.

Can you tell me the XS part number for the 24/7s for the XSE Commander? I have looked at their website and can't tell by the listings which sights fit the XSE.
Thanks
