I have a Colt 1911 that was customized by Clark with a serial number that ends in G70. What does that mean?

Sounds like a Government Model Series 70
Colt used a 70G or 70B prefix or a G70 or B70 suffix on the serial number to indicate a blue Government Model Series 70.

That actually denotes production between '76 and '80.

Inside the slide there is a stamp 11 79. I would assume this is the date the pistol was modified and not a build date.
