In field stripping my newly purchased 1911 OACP Enhanced I noticed the Recoil springs were opposite each other.
One end (of each spring) is 'closed' and flat. The other end is 'open and has a tapered edge.
Being use to Sigs I know the 'tighter' end (in this case the 'closed' end) goes on the recoil rod. This gun has the smaller springs 'open' end on the rod (incorrect I believe) and the larger springs 'Closed' end over the rod (correct I believe).
Anyone have a schematic (or knows for sure) the correct orentation???
I put it back together with both springs 'closed' ends over the rod.
