Well tried to post this to the original post but couldn't, said it was too old, Anyway did some work on this one here are the results
New Grips, Fusion parts inside ( sear, sear spring, hammer, trigger) Wilson BT safety and Ed Brown Cobra flat MSH.
For all the Colt Purists out there, I have all the old parts to put it back to original.
Landman and Wichaka, used the Aluminum Black and it did a nice job covering most of the scratch, Thanks again for the advice
Take a look: first two before, last two after

I do like that very mucho indeed. Nice grips and the gold lettering is a nice touch. Did you apply with a cloth quickly or what? I'd like to do the same with my LW also just for grins.

The gold lettering is just the Birchwood Casey gold stick. I apply with a good amount of the stick and then wait a couple of minutes and then wipe the excess of carefully. It does an OK job, but you have to re-do it now and then.

Thanks Eli, Probabably have more into it than it is worth right now, but I'm not going to sell it anyway, this is one I'll hold onto.

Very sharp looking LW Commander. The Wilson beavertail looks like it belongs there; not at all like a drop-in. Nice job!

I was surprised too as to how well the fit was with the grip safety... Here's couple showing the safety fit and you can see the Kobra MSH
Thanks again for all the compliments, glad you liked it. ( tried to keep my fat hand out of the way, but it just didn't happen

Thanks for the additional pics. It looks like quite a good fit.
What do you think about the Ed Brown offerings as alternatives to checkering...the snakeskin?
Have you had a chance to fire it yet?

I have shot it quite a bit and I like both the looks and functionability of the snake skin, I also switched out the MSH to the snake skin on my DW C-BOB.
I would describe it as unidirectional. If you move your hand down one way it slips easier than going against the snake skin pattern. Keeps your hand in place when it is supposed to. Very comfortable when shooting over a period of time.

They are some type of Elder wood.....stained, finisihed etc.....I think they look great on the Blued frame

Thanks for the info. It looks like it'd be really comfortable and i particularly like the idea of it holding your hand in place in only one direction. Great looking gun!
