New, to the stable, Gubmint Model

Like the idea they are they are putting the "detent" on the recoil spring plug again. I love those, no more round dents in the ceilings. ;)

Looks like the new AR upper will have to wait. ;-)

Very nice. I wish my plug had the "detent." Did you put on the short trigger and arched MSH yourself, or did it come that way?

Yes sir, I replaced the trigger with a GI I had laying around and a spare MSH.

My Govt model arrived three days ago. I already have two 1911, a RIA 45 ACP and a RIA 38 Super/9mm. Shoot mostly 9mm.

I just had to have a Colt though. Beautiful pistol. Excellent finish and fit. Feels totally different than the RIAs. I'll have a chance to go shooting this weekend and do a true comparison. I really like my RIAs so we'll see.

A year ago I would have never thought that I would have three 1911 style pistols. Guess the bug has bitten. :)

Yup! I was wondering the same about you, but knowing that you are a Colt 1911 fan, I assumed it was you. I've been a member of this site for a long time, but kind of got away from it for a while. Just returned recently. I picked up an original 70 Series, Combat commander, in 9MM, that's still NIB, a while back. Your new one caught my eye. Nice to see that they have opened a BHP sub forum. I've only got one, but it's a beauty. Have you ever gotten into them?

Ooh, the Commander sounds sweet! I haven't any Hi-Powers at the moment but, yes sir, I do like them. I even like the HPs in .40, let a nice one slip away a few years back. Biggest regret was selling a super clean postwar, pre external extractor HP.
