View Full Version : Combat Commander w/ "A70SCXXXXX" Serial

As you can see in the attached photos, the serial on a Combat Commander I recently purchased has an "A" prefix. The "A" is slightly mis-aligned with the rest of the serial, but is basically the same depth, font, size, etc, as the rest of the serial.

I haven't found anything via a site search...anyone have any info on it's significance?

You can always call Colt's Custom Service during business hours M-F @ 1-800-962-COLT and they can at least tell you when it was made. W/O the "A" prefix, it would be a 1977 mfg date, FWIW.

Maybe the "A" is some sort of a reissued serial number due to a frame replacement or something? Have you asked the previous owner about it?
