Just a quick question.

For approx. the last 20-25 years I have had a light weight Commander in .45 A.C.P.. The only thing that makes this one somewhat distinctive is that the slide is much more polished that any other I have seen. (Think Python type polish).

Was this a separate option or just the "Luck of the draw".

Don't get too excited it has little collector value left. (Carried as a police off-duty gun for years, holster wear, nicks, slight rust from sweat etc.). BUT a great gun.

I've got two of them, a LW and a combat and both have a fine polish to the slides much like Pythons, Gold Cups, and even Government models of times past. My combat Commander isn't so old, but it is 26 years old.

Colt used to make the prettiest pistols! I like the older better, but they sure are getting expensive.
