I am yet to understand why CD has never brought any .40 guns in. The Gov't model would sell. The .45 guns that are imported have a bull barrel. Another mistake. The .45 guns are not legal for IDPA with a bull barrel. Come on CD wake up. Listen to what your customers want.
I have had this conversation with you guys for years.

the G.I. and TacT. do not have the Bull Bbl, do they? I thought just the Mid-size and Tiny had them......

Is the .40S&W IDPA legal in the full size?

The .40 S&W is a red headed stepchild in IDPA. Sure it fits into ESP for the single action pistols and also into SSP in a DA/SA configuration. But really, in either class you're competing with the 9mm crowd. Without custom handloads the 9mm has the .40 S&W recoil beat hands down.

Now from a business perspective, just about every major 1911 manufacturer has offered a .40 S&W chambering. I can't recall every seeing an line at my local gunshop waiting to buy one. It's just not a popular caliber choice for the 1911 pattern pistol. A successful business need to identify it's market segments carefully before committing valuable manufacturing resources. One great recipe for failure is to try and be all things to every customer. :nono:

I'd add a note to this.

The .40S&W 1911 pattern double stack is hugely popular in IPSC.
IPSC is much more popular sport, so I guess that is enough to jusitify the .40 with a Bull barrel.
When you are looking at sales, I would imagine the Transmark consider the value of the sales they can make worldwide.

I have no idea what kind of barrel my Ultra X M5 has, but when it fires properly it is deadly accurate. By far, one of the most accurate 4.25" barrels I have ever used. I am just waiting to get the thing tweaked so that I have the confidence to use it as a carry piece while stateside. It is a lovely gun. Outstanding. And CD is more than just outstanding in customer service. They are a cut above.

Does anyone know where you can get parts for the Daly M5s? Like triggers etc? I tried a wilson double stack trigger and it didnt fit.

Have you tried Daly? I spoke with them not too long ago and they offerred to repair my M5. The M5 is made by TRANSMARK BUL in Israel. The Canadian distributor gets hot and cold reports. I bought an M5 from them and had some problems which they dealt with admirably but their communications and responsiveness is less than desirable generally. You may want to try them out.

the kimber polymer triggers should fit the bul m5 as bul used to make the frames for kimber
