I have come across some triton quik-shok 45 super. I couldnt pass up the chance to shoot a 165 grain bullet 1400 fps.. I installed a 24 pound recoil spring, the gun shoots, and cycles good. BUT the brass is getting dinged up.. There is a crush the exact size of the extractor on the front of the case, and the mark on the firing pin is odd.. It looks almost like the slide is shearing part of the primer off during ejection..
Thoughts?

Can't make a call on the ding without a picture...
but on this issue:

I can about promise that you've got a headspace problem. Might not be a bad idea to chack your barrel lugs for deformation or cracks at the junction of barrel and lug, front side.

I tried to get a picture, but my phones camera is simply not good enough.. I only shot the super loads 2 times. Changed my spring back to the factory one, and it fired regular 45 ACP without a problem. The lugs on the barrel look perfect..
This is from my 1991 colt commander, with a round count of around 300-400..

I reckon a really heavy recoil spring is about the least important part of a .45 Super "conversion". Sounds like the primer is flowing into the firing pin port, and then being sheared off as the gun unlocks; sign of way too much pressure, and/or a way too generous port.
