Need a recommendation on tools or a kit to fully disassemble a 1911 or 1911 clone. Presently have only Colts and Kimbers.

That's the beauty of this design .......... very little [tools ] are needed to take this baby apart. Some old timers can use the parts of the pistol to dissassemble it.
I use a bushing wrench ............you may not need one if your barrel bushing is not fitted tightly.
A brass punch
A screw driver that fits your grips screws
That's it !

The only tools I frequently need are:
A small, flathead screwdriver, useful for removing grip screws, holding down firing pin during reassembly, removing and reinstalling the mag release, and as a wedge to pry thumb safety off frame or hold plunger in.
A small punch and hammer used for driving out the pin holding the MSH to the frame.
You don't need anything elaborate for disassembling and reassembling the pistol.
