Officer's MSH Question

I am replacing the ILS with a standard MSH on a Springfield Ultra Compact and have a question about the MS Cap - is it just shorter that a regular Government Cap or is is totally different. Just wondering if I can cut the one I have (not from the ILS) down or if I need to order a new part. Thanks!

I suggest you order a new MSH cap for an officers size 1911. It is not an expensive part to replace. You can get it from Brownells.com. It is shorter than a government full size 1911s MSH cap.

I just ordered a complete pin set for the officers model by Ed Brown. Not a bad idea to have some extra parts around.
