Custom Pistol Question

I am about to venture on my first custom built pistol. I will send it out for the major stuff, but the ordering and assembling I will do. Aside from the slide fit, the beaver cut and the barrel fit, what other machining needs to be done?

To finish the metal, 600 and 800 sand paper??
