I have an ambi-safety fitted on my Norinco (done by previous owner). The safety is not very smooth and when disengaged it has a little downward play. What I mean by this is that @ the disengaged position, the safety can be pushed down further a little bit creating some play, it always bounces back to the position it's supposed to be but it bothers me alot.
So my question is this, is this ambi-safety incorrectly fitted? My pistol smith seems to think that the frame might be cut too low thus creating the downward play, which I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that this is not the case. I'm not aware that when fitting an ambi-safety the frame needs to be cut, can someone confirm why someone would cut the frame to fit an ambi-safety?
