Has anyone seen the recoil spring in a S.A.M. Commodore (4 1/4" barrel)? I just got one in that is following. The hammer hooks are .017" long! And the sear face looks like it has been used to open cans. Those are obvious needs.
But what I am wondering about is the recoil spring. The one in the gun weighs about 17#+. That is not too bad as factory for Commanders is 18. But the overall length of this one is 3 3/4" long. Pretension is very light. Do to pretension and length, I weighed it. The spring wire is .048" to compensate for the short spring. If something works, I tend to leave it alone, but this just seems weird.
Has anyone had experience with these?
