Has anyone install any of the aftermarket red dot sights on their Kimber? I have installed them on 2 of my other pistols with factory mounts, and they are great. I am not sure that I want too have someone modify my Kimber and install a tactical rail.

I am not a fan of lasers so the grips are not much of an option.

I am not an authority by any means, but was contemplating a Brownell no smith grip mount on my Gold Cup for much the same reason.

I usually use a Clark rib on top of the slide and a pair of Weaver Top Mount rings for an Ultradot red dot sight. I'll occasionally use a Weaver #81 base instead, but it takes a bit more work for the ejector port cutout.
Those grip-mounts are not the best choice for mounting a dot sight, or even a pistol scope. They tend to elongate the screw holes and come loose.

I just had a rock river mount put on my gold match classic slide so i could mount a ultradot match dot on it. A lot of people said that by mounting a scope on it . i would loose a lot of potenional buyers and or value when i sell it . oh well i bought it to shoot it not as a investment

The loss of value is one of the reasons i have held off installing anything aftermarket.

Thanks for everyones input.
