Any feedback on this extractor? I'm thinking of one for my Colt defender. The "hook" design and better material seems like a big plus. Thanks-Chuck.

I have maybe 500 rounds on one, and no problems as of yet. I like it mostly due to the shorter protruding length, but all the features appear to be good.

What I'd like to know is this...if you make the rear half of the part into a solid cylinder of metal, isn't that going to increase the stiffness far beyond what is needed for the extractor to act like a spring? (We already have that problem with Bulletproof extractors). The hook on the new EGW part does appear to be more carefully proportioned, I will agree. Is it possible that making the extractor in the original material just costs too much and that this is an alternate way of achieving longevity of extractor tension?

Got a note back from EGW that it won't fit a series 80 or 90, so Im going to tweak my stocker.

I just got one of these extractors fitted in a Colt slide. Pretty strong which I like. Plenty of tension on the case with very little springing of the extractor. Hook fit the case with no modification. I haven't shot this pistol yet, but dummies fed and extracted smoothly. I like it.
