question on flat MSH fitting

I had some one give me a Kimber flat MSH they no longer used
I did install it in the SA 1911 and found I hand problems trying to get the lower pin to exit the other side of the frame.
My easy fix was to open the exit side of the MSH a tad (on one side)now the pin goes threw the frame with no problems
Will I have Any Problem using the Kimber flat MSH

Shouldn"t have a problem as long as the detent is holding pressure on the takedown pin. Test it, by using a punch in your hand and exert force equal to the pressure of previous takedowns.You were right to leave the frame alone.
