Has anybody had experience with the Briley spherical barrel bushing, especially on a Gold Cup?

From reading about them they sound great, like to see what kind of feedback you get-CB

The next question is what barrel did it go on as in did it replace the original Colt collet bushing, or a new barrel with the new bushing, and this may be more of a gunsmithing issue.

And before I get yelled at, Colt only had collet bushings on Gold Cups to around 1988 or 1989. And before you get yelled at you should post a picture of the gun.

I replaced the original three-finger collet bushing on my used Series 70 Gold Cup with the Briley. The barrel is original. I have not fired it with the Briley bushing yet, but the slide action is smoother. I bought this used Gold Cup last year and have fired 245 rounds of 230 gr. ball ammo and it has not failed to feed, fire and extract. This with Wolff 8 rd. magazines. It is the first 1911 I have ever shot, and I regret not having boughy one decades ago.

And I do have one in my S&W 945, but that is NOT a 1911.

Works great. One fellow said he put one in Spec. Combat Gov and it did not improve his groups at 50 yards which is what he was looking to do.
The best information is from a fellow who put one into an 80's gov and told me to measure the inside and outside dimensions very carefully.

I'm tempted to try one 'cause it sounds like a good answer.
Not much of a gunsmithing issue as it comes either dropin or oversize on the OD and you can get the inner spherical ring in six sizes from .578 to .583" which pretty well covers the range for .45 caliber.
Kinda' steep though...
