I am thinking about buying one of the Wilson Combat extended slide releases.

I've got standard thickness grips on top of the rubber Pearce Finger Grooves (which adds about a milimeter of thickness to each side of the gun).
Anybody know if the extra thickness of the pearce rubber flaps would cause problems with the Wilson Extended SR?

I bought a used Colt about a year ago that had both parts on it, it won't interfere but I won't carry anything with an extended slide release so I swapped it out. I left the Pearce grip on though, I kinda like that part.

Why an extended release? They can cause issues with premature slide lock back, and when changing mags, your thumb should be right on the standard one, so my thoughts on these are they are a solution looking for a non-existant problem and can cause a problem themselves.

(Just my personal opinion though)

WestTN I put the Wilson extended slide release on my RIA Tactical model, with the Pearce finger groves, and Esmerlda grips. The problem I had was the slide release hit the grips when I released the slide. I think it was the grips that caused my problem. Just my 2% of a dollar

Did you try relieving the back side of the release? CB

You mean any other modification apart from shortening it to the ... standard length? No, I do not think so.

I bought one of these for my Kimber Custom II although I like okay unless I was shooting the pistol it won't lock open the slide. When I bought it I put it in and tryed it out with an empty mag and it didn't work. I left it in and went shooting to try it out and it worked like it was suppose to. I took it back out and polished it and it worked better but not everytime just when I shot. If your interested in one maybe we can work something out. Mine is for a blued .45.
