My HK USP I bought brand new less than a year ago that has night sights and 3 15rd mags for a colt 1991 nonstainless, Greider Precision Oversized Match Trigger, Ed Brown "Tactical" Extended Safety, beavertail, and checkered main spring housing.

What do you think, should I do it?

I wouldn't, I think your HK is worth more. How old is the 1991? Do you know who did the work on it? I would rather buy a new 1991 for around $700 that I know is in good working order.

I agree with Zscorp. Unless a used gun is priced well below market value. I favor buying new guns, as I don't want to buy someones problems.

Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!

You have a nice pistol. I love my Colts but that is not a fair trade. Take the pistol and $200.00.

Better yet sell your pistol for cash right now before the HK45 becomes more available.
Once the old USPs are gone your value will sink.

I am not saying Don't get a Colt I am saying not that one. But talk to the seller about cash ontop of trade.

I agree with those above. Particularly the statement about "who did the work on the gun". If you know and trust the seller (who can verify that the work was done by a competent gunsmith), and WANT the features that the gun now has, it may be a trade to consider.
If i'm buying used, i'd rather have a "factory original"/stock gun (personal preference). Then, if i get work done to it, it will be to my personal specifications.

If you want a Colt, as Zscorp said, maybe consider selling your USP and buying a new 1991.

Can you post pics of the Colt?

I wouldn't do it either. I think my dealer's cost on H&K's right now is about 600 bucks, and the 1991's new retail is about that. H&K plus 200 is about right. I however, wouldn't trade out an H&K, that or a sig are two non-1911 platforms that are top notch. Keep the H&K and save your money for the used 1991.
