I took my new Commander out for it's first range trip today and was very pleased by the accuracy and consistant handling. I had never fired an aluminum framed pistol before and was a little worried as to how it would handle.
I quickly realized that it was not much different than a full size steel framed 1911. The trigger did take some time to get use too since it was set long from the factory, a little adjust of the travel screw should tune that in for me.
The gun straight out of the box performed flawlessly with no issues out of 150 rounds.
This range trip just added to my confidence in choosing Colt. The feel of the pistol was much better than any of the Springfields, Kimbers, Para and Taurus 1911's I have owned or handled in the past.
It's hard to explain but Colt just seems to "feel" right.
