Has anyone tried these? Crimson Trace now has carbon fiber lasergrips for the 1911 (http://crimsontrace.com/Home/Products/1911/LG401P4/tabid/253/Default.aspx for government model). I had a set of their rubber grips that I really liked. How are these in comparison? Until I got the lasergrips I had always used wraparound Pachmayr grips, so I'm used to the rubber style.

The CT laser grips are an awesome addition to a defensive firearm. However the carbon fiber is not soft like some rubber grips. However I feel that it is well worth the trade off of utility over comfort.

Carbon fiber is very light, very stiff and very strong. I haven't tried grips specifically but I'd definitely want a dehorning job on them. CF can get pretty sharp, although I bet Crimson Trace wouldn't skimp on the finishing touches.
Edit: Scratch that, they're not actually CF. :o

I have a set of the hard plastic CT grips in camo pattern that came on my Kimber covert.
The checkering is a little sharp to me but not enough to change grips.
I like them and would recommend them.
