Can anyone give me an idea of what this should cost? Gun is used but says LNIB. Doesn't specifiy what is custom about it except that it is "highly accurized". Can anyone tell me the difference between this Custom Shop gun and a regular Combat Commander?

Was it sent back to the Custom Shop? In that case I would want to see the invoice of what they did there.
I don't know if it will help, but here is an "off the rack" Commander I bought new in Aug of 2007 for $750. The only thing I have changed is the grips to protect the nice wood double diamond ones that came on it, as I now carry this gun.

And here is an XSE LW Commander I bought back a couple years ago. I just saw one like it for about $900 new in a gunshop.

It came from the Custom Shop.... :)
Another one of those wonderful limited runs commissioned by one of Colts larger distributors......that says "Colt Custom" on the left slide. They were put out by the Custom Shop it seems from early to mid or so 90's.
There were Gov't models and Gold Cups as well with the "Colt Custom" rollmarks.
Nowadays there is the "Colt Custom" 38 Super in Bright Stainless.....
Yours has to be from at least '92, as it is enhanced. It's hard to tell but it looks like it has those early XS ski jump Novak style rear sight on it as well.
A wild guess would be 800 to 1000 bucks.............

So what makes this pistol special? Is it any better built? Shoots better? Or basically just different because it says "Custom Shop"?

First off, it was produced in very limited numbers. That makes it rare and unique. Also, it probably was actually produced in Colt's Custom Shop (vs. being a production gun). It has some enhaced features, as Paul said, like the slanted cocking serrations, BTGS, possibly a serrated slide top (though it's hard to tell from the pics). AFAIK, Custom Shop guns are worked on by hand.
This brings up an interesting question. I don't really know exactly to what extent Colt does work on "custom shop" guns by hand. I'd be curious to know. Do they lap slide/frame fit, hand file serrations etc., sight for accuarcy, test for reliability, etc.?
