I've been a good guy so I'm thinking to buy a Gold Cup Trophy SS.
I already have a Kimber TLE II that works fine...my heart says "go for that", my head says " you already have a nice .45" .....

Help!

No help from me!! I like spending your money!

Gold Cups are good production guns......

Other "1911s" that cost the same can be just as good.....

BUT.....

You really, really have got to own a Colt.

Welcome to the forum. I think a Gold Cup Trophy would be a good idea. I have shot many pistols by many manufacturers (not all of them but many) and the GCT is at the top of my favorite list. My range partner has one in stainless and he know what I was telling him when I talked him into buying it. I say go for it as well.
Try Bud's guns online or gunbroker.

Why buy a Gold Cup?

Because you want one...Duh!

Kimbers are nice pistols...Colts are better.

I say go for it - I did the same thing last week, it should be here in a few days. Can't wait to get it to the range..... which is in my backyard, so it's not too far to go ;)

Thank you guys.
I know I'm a pain in the back, but my concern is to find out that a GC feels and shoots just like the Kimber...
The last but not the least the price list of a GC here in italy is 1600 €...

on the other hand it is a classic that a serious shooter should have..

Hmm. I have had several Kimbers and still have an older Target Elite II and Grand Raptor II. To me they do have a slightly different feel when shooting them. It is subtle, but there to me. I prefer the Colt. The different feel may just be me, but I do have Colt XSEs with the flgr in them. It will be interesting to see if you note a difference when you get the Colt.

Do you have a gun range near you that rents guns? That would be a great way to try before you buy....

A Gold Cup would be a good choice, another good choice would be the Special Combat Gov't.

The Gold Cups are great range and target pistols and I am sure you will love the "original" .45 :D . You also might want to check out the Special Combat Government (if they are offered in your neck of the woods) as they are also great range or target pistols. Good luck
