I'm stuck. You guys tell me what would look better on a stainless bobtail.

The black stands out, and makes the eyes focus on the grip panel. While the black/gray blends nicely into the overall look of the gun. I prefer the black/gray.

The vote is 50/50 however the nod should go to the one who was interested enough to make a comment! ;)

Black/Gray............

The vote is 7 to 7, so the only recourse is to do one side Black and the other side Black/Gray. Everyone wins! ;)

I've had that same idea. But then I'd have to decide which color for which side. :lm:

There's fodder right there for another thread with another poll..............

Where do those grips come from?

I'm having a hard time finding grips for a stainless 1911 - all my favorite exotic wood grips look great on a blued gun, less so on a stainless....

BTW, I voted for the black/grey

Ain't it always the way it goes! You give a guy a unique, fantastic, creative, stupendous, trend setting idea. And he claims to have already had the same idea! :butthead:

Like the song says..."Oh Lord, it's hard, to be humble..." :D

Pakwaan...those are Lazza (Larry Davidson) Horned Lizard grips, made from G-10 composite. Tell ya what...you get a set of gray black, and I'll get some black ones. Then, we can trade one panel each so we both have one panel of each...then we can swich every couple of months. That way, we won't have to decide which color nor which color on which side. :D :D :D

Lazza's grips can be found HERE. (http://davidsonknives.com/grips/grips.htm)

Got a better idea - they make green ones too - you, me and Rich can all buy a set in different colors, and then get together once every couple months, throw them all in a hat, and draw 2 at random...

Of my four white (two SS and two hard chrome) 1911's three have black and one has grey/black. I like the grey/black but prefer the black. My wife say's I'm very black and white with no grey area.... or matter..... :D

Go with the black...it gives the gun a very nice contrasting look.

Here is the dilemma. I have a set of G10 grips in black/grey from Mil-Tac. I love them and they look great on my stainless Springfield. BTW Larry Davidson is responsible for the Mil-Tac line. He is the designer.
Now I have added a S&A mainspring housing with mag well and I need flat bottom grips. Ordered a set of flat bottom grips in black.
So I have to split my vote 50/50 :lm:
Hope that helps...NOT
