I have a Colt gold cup elite IX in the original box with hang tags and accessories, it has be shot but shows no wear. Does this have any collector value? I have read that only 500 were made, but on a different site they said 750 were made.
It is 9mm with a stainless frame with blue slide and Ellison rear sight.
Trying to decide if I want to sell or shoot it.

Does this have any collector value?
Ahhhhhhh.......how bout 1500 to 2000 bucks depending on which way the wind blows?
Trying to decide if I want to sell or shoot it. It is a valuable collector. Me?.....I shoot the shooters and keep collectors "collectible".
For example.....there are no Elite IX's on GunBroker at this time. However, here is an example of a Gold Cup Elite.

Welcome to the forum.
The Colt Gold Cup National Match Elite IX was a limited run of 500 in I believe the 90s (I cannot remember exactly when).
It does have some collector value and is worth hanging on to. I would shoot it some but not too often, and take care of it.
There was a run of Elite Gold Cups in Super .38, .40 S&W, 9mm, and .45 Automatic.
Here is my Elite IX.

Actually the production was 750 units, I have no. 744. No. 750 was listed on one of the auction sites not too long ago.

BTW, welcome to the forum Coyote. Your pistol is a collectible as Paul pointed out. I had a collectible Gold Cup Officers Match. I sold it I don't have any use for safe queens. The point I'm trying to make is everyone is different. If your like Paul and others here keep it, take it out and drool on it, wipe it off and place it back in the safe. If your like me Shoot it or sell it to buy another that you wouldn't feel guilty shooting.
*All Colt's have some degree of collectibility just because of the name.*

Thanks for the response, at this time the elite IX is a safe queen, I am leaning towards selling and finding a different 9mm to shoot. I will take some pics. I have been travelling then experienced some health issues that kept me in the hospital.

Hey man hope you're feeling better! If you decide to sell the Elite IX (and I'm sure you'll get pretty penny for it if you do!), please make sure you get a Colt 9mm shooter, OK?
