Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Thanks to John and the rest of the Admin staff for running a first class site!

Here's my situation.....

I am the proud owner of a Para Ordnance P14.45 (hence my screen name!). I bought it NIB back in 1998 and, admittedly, tricked it out a bit (FWIW, I love this pistol, it has NEVER missed a beat). The one thing I never did and am thinking seriously about doing now is add Tritium sights.

The first question is whether or not to have a dovetail machined into the slide for the front sight (the factory sight is staked).

The second question is what is the best bang for the buck in your collective opinion as far as manufacturer (Trijicon, etc.)?

Unless someone gives me a REALLY good reason to go adjustable, I am interested in a fixed rear. The gun is my primary defensive sidearm.

Any thoughts or opinions are warmly welcomed.

Thanks!

P.S. The digital camera is on vacation with a family member at the moment. Yes, I'll post pics when it comes home! :)

Well im in the same boat as you. The only company that makes tritium night sights that DONT require a dovetail front is Meprolight. Im seriously considering going with them. I hope this helps some.

actually, Trijicon makes a staked front as well. I am also looking at upgrading my sights as well.
