Need help
Does anybody know if para ordnance makes a frame kit for a colt combat commander 45 I think it would be a p-13? If so do they make it in stainless steel? where do I buy?????

Para's "Gunsmith Kit" came in one size only, which would be the equivalent of their P14.45. The P13.45 (their old Commander-size double stack pistol) had a slightly shorter grip frame than the P14.45, unlike a Colt Commander, which has the same size grip frame as a Government model. But there's no reason the Gunsmith Kit won't work with a Commander slide and barrel -- it'll just have a full-sized grip.
The Gunsmith Kit was still listed on Para's web site just before they launched the new and "improved" web site. I can't find the Gunsmith Kit listed on the new web site, though, and using their search function didn't return any hits. I'd suggest dropping an e-mail or PM to George Wedge to find out if the kit is still being offered, or if they have finally dropped it from their product line (which would be a shame, IMHO).

Yes, commander frame = full size frame. Officers frame is the short one, then Warthog is even shorter.

The Commander is the same height as the Government. The front dustcover (under the slide) is about 1/8" shorter on the Commander, but you can run a Commander slide on a Government frame without changing that. I'd done it -- it just doesn't look quite right. If you know it's always going to be a Commander upper, you can just cut back the dustcover slightly so it aligns with the cutout on the front of the slide.

i would just cut about an 1/8 of an inch on the dust cover

Sounds like a nice little project. Be sure to post progress photos, as well as a picture or three of the finished pistol.

You're probably right. They have an entire webpage and item number under their 2007 product list for something they no longer offer.
