Ordered these from CDNN and they came in a Colt factory package. I love the way they look and feel. Pus it adds some gold to the silver. Floyd ;)

Not bad, Floyd. I like to see the different things folks do with their Colts! Are those about the same thickness as the Hogue's?

Thanks Lee and Clug. Yes they are about the same as the hogue's but the checkering on them feels a little better than the Hogues. I liked the finger grooves on the stock ones but these are grippy too. I can switch em in and out now if I want.

I went with Silverwood grips from Ajax on mine.

They are not as comfy to shoot for extended periods as the rubber wrap arounds. In fact back in 1984 that is why I took the wood grips off, and put Pachmyers on my Detonics.

That's a sharp look. I may do something similiar to my defender soon. Pics will follow, when I do it, OK Gunny?

The silverwood looks sharp on a SS 1911.

And I always thought that the Colt symbol was a Rearing Horse. Now I find out it's only a Prancing Pony! :(

It's actually called a "Rampant Colt" Oh, and the Michelin man is really "Mr.Bib".
