just curious does anyone know of anyone who makes a flat mainspring housing thats smooth? i.e no sereattes or checkering, and of which also would be in stainless?

The only smooth mainspring housing I'm aware of is offered by VZ Grips. It is machined from 6082-T6 aluminum (sorry, no stainless steel), and the part is not anodized. Check out either the VZ Grips ad, or the Brownells ad in the sponsors section at the top of this page.

As long as you are talking about a Government or Commander...
Brown makes them both blued and stainless.

Brownells carries them. I think theirs are made by Smith & Alexander

Just as a recap the housings mad by S&A and Ed brown, they are flat, and smooth? like the mainspring housings found on WW1 1911's? thats the kind of housing i want but in stainless or similar to match a stainless 1911.
