I have the SA 1911 with the 3 white dot combat sight set up and as far as a great sight picture yes only out doors .I found indoor shooting the sight are no problems but trying to see the 3 white dots are really not great.
I am going to change out the rear fixed sight but which one as far as a better sight picture would be better ?
Stay with the rear dot system or stay with the rear sight outline in white and use the front white dot

I am not being smart. How long has it been since you have seen your eye doctor? Maybe it is time?

Before I had my eye surgery, I liked two white dots on the rear and one on the front, and line up all three.

While a trip to the eye doc once in awhile is a good idea I would also suggest maybe a fiber optic front sight. It would provide a good contrast to the double dot rear.
Dawson Precision has a good selection of sights as well as other gun parts.

I like Novak's or similar with a wide rear notch. The extra light on the sides of the front site helps me get on target faster.
