Earlier today I was trying to take the mag catch out of my Kimber Warrior and noticed that the catch lock looks like a hex head screw. Is there a different way of taking these out? I tried to do it as you usually would, but with no luck.

I do not think so, it should still come out in the same way. But I can't tell for sure, I never touched a Kimber.

Except for the shape of the tool recess in the head, hex-head magazine catch locks are identical to slotted-head locks and are removed using the same procedure.

It's not a screw, it's a cam lock..........push the mag release in about half way, and turn counter-clockwise. If it doesn't come out, adjust how much the mag release is pushed in.
