I have a Colt Ace sn 5097. I have taken it to a gunsmith for cleaining and servicing.

He is having problems with it "jamming" after 3 or 4 rounds are fired. He seems stumped. He has run just about every .22 cal bullet available.

I have not used the gun and it stayed in a case for a good number of years.

Comments?

It's just old, like mine.

Hey, mine needs a couple of parts that aren't made anymore - want to sell yours?

Or trade for a like new Ruger government Model .22 with bull barrel. Great target gun!

Is he using standard-velocity ammo? Since "high velocity" is about all I ever see anymore, I suppose I should ask if he's using low-velocity ammo?
What sort of servicing did it require? That is, did the gunsmith violate the hyppocratic oath of gunsmithing (do no harm)? What sort of condition is the magazine in? What sort of "jam"? Feeding? Extracting? Ejecting?
There is supposed to be a stack of "fiber" washers on the guide rod; what sort of condition are they in?
