I am looking at a set of Pachmayr grips for the "guys" but I have heard that some folks have a problem with the little brass emblem comming loose in the rubber grip and falling out.
Have any of you delt with this problem and if so, how did you fix it?

Crazy glue? Silicone?

The pearce grips fit inside of the grip side panels, and I think they look, feel and function better.

One emblem fell off the day I was screwing the grips on to the gun and the second fell of on the first range visit after firing around 2 mags. I have just kept the emblems on the side for now and will fix them with some sort of heat resistant glue when I feel like it.

I've had a set of Pachmayr Signature grips on my Series 70 Colt for seems like 20 years and I havn't had any problems with them whatsoever.

The emblems fell off mine and I just glued them back on with Shoe Goo (heavy clear rubber cement). Mine lasted about 4 months before they fell off.

Both mine are were held on by super glue, and the rubber didn't fit right in the wood anyway. I thought these would be great, I mean they look really nice on the gun, but there is not support thru the finger grooves, they don't fit right, and they are cheaply made. I use regular wood panels, some with the pearce under-panel grooves and love em, or hogues. I wouldn't recommend these pachmayrs to anyone.

You can use gorilla glue but just a little. That stuff expands as it dries. Will hold that emblem for a good long time.
I wouldn't use crazy glue. It has a very weak shear strength. A small amount of twisting can break that bond.

Toolman +1.
I put Signature grips on an Officer's ACP and a SA 1911A1 back in the '80s and have never had a problem with either of them (and I've carried them a lot).

Have been happy with the Signature grips with out the meds. going back to the 70s The only ones I have with the Meds came on a Gold Cup I bought (1988 gun, but I bought it a year or so ago). No problems with it.

I don't have any Wood-Rubber Pachmyers, but have lost the meds out of a couple sets of Ajax grips when they were pretty much new. Like John said get some of the latest good glue of your choice and go for it. The meds have stayed in my Ajax grips, but can't remember what I used. I know I got it at Home Depot, and it said good for metal/wood bonds.
