What's a good place to buy black rubber grips? I'm looking for double diamond checkered black rubber grips. No logos. No wraparound finger grooves. Many thanks! :)

Both of those are rubber grips but have logos. I also came across a website called Lippman Enterprises, http://www.lippman-enterprises.com/misc.html , not too sure about ordering from them but you could give them a call and see what they sound like over the phone. The link shows two different checkered grips that have no logos.

Hogue makes a set, albeit with their logo. But it's small.

Personally, I like the Houge panels. I like Hogue grips, have them on a few guns, but the Gov't wrap-arounds are a bit big for my hands (the Officers size are a perfect fit, however). The Hogue panels feel good and grip well. I don't worry much about the logo's, these are about function.

I was just trying to follow the guidelines set by the person requesting the information. I too agree with function over form and personally I've got no problem letting the manufacturer advertise their own product. I'd prefer it actually.

I know you were, I was just giving him a hint that the tiny logo may very well be worth it.

Oh most certainly, the first link I posted to Cheaperthandirt.com are the Hogue grips. I guess great minds think alike :).

I think cheaper has the best price too, I did a quick search before posting it and I've gotten nothing but the best service from them for multiple orders.

Can anyone tell me if the black rubber Hogue grips are slimmer than the stock wood grips?
I see that cheeperthandirt has a rosewood slim grip that states they are 40% slimmer than the stock 1911 grips.

I ask this because I have small hands. The slimmer grips on the Smith Gunsite work better for me than the stock wood 1911 grips.

smith1911, I can't speak for the Hogues, but the Pearce Modulars are supposedly thin. Check out the review: http://ezine.m1911.org/PearceModularGrips.htm

And to reply to my own question, I found some at Sarco, but shipping is pricey and they have a minimum order limit. <sigh>

I was looking for the same thing a while back. Kimber grips fit the bill very well. Click the members pics (upper right) to see them on a Sprinfield Champion. They have been transfered to a S&W Gunsite Edition with good results.

Find a pair of Kimber grips or Pearce grips.
