I'm thinking of adding the Guncrafter Industries mainspring housing with the lanyard loop to my TRS. Has anyone done this to their Baer pistol and were there any issues?

I've tried it and it works fine. I didn't put it in a TRS, but what's so different about this pistol, than any other 1911?

I recently bought an arched MSH w/loop from Smith & Alexander and put it in one of my RIA's. It was a perfect fit, although a little snug. Probably coulda used a few file strokes, but it went in without any. Beautiful quality part, BTW.

John, the reason I ask is because Baers are known to have the various small parts hand fit. I know of another manufacturer's msh that required fitting in a friend's TRS. This is also the reason I originally posted in the Baer thread as I was curious if other Baer owners had tried it & if it fit ok. Sorry if I posted in the wrong area but again I was looking for Baer-pistol-specific fit issues. Thanks.

There is no such a thing as a drop-in part for the 1911. It may fit like a glove or it may require some filing, there is no warranty.

Still interested in hearing from anyone with a Baer pistol that has tried this mainspring housing, thanks.

Still interested in hearing from anyone with a Baer pistol that has tried this mainspring housing, thanks. Put one on my HC TRS, looks and works great. I got a blue one for my Baer Coat TRS, but I haven't installed it yet! The stainless went on without any issues. I may try the Mars unit though and put the Guncrafter on my Dawson Precision Spec Opns.
