I have brass marks on the outside of the ejector right behind the ejector between the rear site and ejector. What does this mean?

Are you sure you don't mean the back of the ejection port? The ejector is an internal part with only a small exposed area to the left of the hammer slot on the slide.
If you mean the back of the ejection port on the slide (near the extractor claw), it is normal to have brass markings there, along the back edge of the port or the adjacent outside of the slide behind the port. You can check your empty shells for dents. Most modern M1911's have the ejection port lowered and ported. Ported in the rear for brass clearance and ported in the front for unfired round clearance. By the time the brass hits the back of the port, it has pretty much cleared the gun and should not cause reliability problems. Rear porting helps if you reload your brass; it's not so important otherwise (some perfectionists might argue otherwise). You could also check your extractor claw tension, which can alter ejection. The extractor claw should hold a full 230 grain round on the slide (off the frame) at all angles but with no significant hesitation at lock up. Recoil spring weight can change ejection. Angling the ejector tip can throw the brass at a different angle too.
If your pistol is reliable and does not throw the brass at your face, you should be fine.

Well I don't have a picture and I already cleaned it off today with Flitz. But here is a pic from another thread that has the same marks only a tiny bit further back behind the cutout..

The person that posted this pic sent it back to RIA and they fixed it. Mine is a Colt Gunsite CCO.

Hi
The brass marks on the slide in the picture are normal. You can tweak your extractor to minimize them. I'm not sure it's worth it. Each load you use will behave a little differently.

Unless it would damage your finish, try a fresh soft pencil eraser to remove the brass marks.

I have the same marks on my Springfield and was a little concerned. I showed my buddy the marks and he said "so, how does it shoot?" I got his point because the pistol worked flawlessly.
Anyway, I found this video at Tripp Research (http://www.trippresearch.com/media/movement/hispeedgateway.html). The 1911 hi-speed camera work is a little way into the video but you can clearly see what the empty round is doing while being ejected.

....
Anyway, I found this video ......
Hi
Interesting video. Very interesting that a 1911 will safely function with the side of the slide chopped out like that.
