I have a 1943 1911A1 that has the stamped trigger. It was was delivered Dec.23rd to the Springfield Armory. Should this have the milled trigger? I realize the lack of hard dates of part usage and this has the slight relief cut in the back of the trigger strap to relieve any pressure and tension on the action which is correct for the date of manufacture. Is the stamped trigger correct? Clawson's '93 big book states that the milled trigger was used slightly longer than this date. I do know that hard dates of implementation are next to impossible to precisely place. If it should be a milled trigger please let me know of any assistance tracking one down if needed. I will be handsomely reward the location of a milled with the notch. Thank-you, true experts in advance as I am a practicing "apprentice expert". You are all the best! _Paul

That's what I thought. I just wondered that as parts were grabbed from where ever they could be found that this may have happened. Some parts found there way to to inappropriate places (such as RRand and Ithaca) just to get production up and running ASAP. I figured Colt kept their products in fine fettle Thanks, Bob.
