View Full Version : How much (if any) space is acceptable under a Novak cut?

One of my pistols has an Air gap behind the dovetail where the top of the slide is milled away. I can get an .009 feeler gauge in it with very light drag.
Would this be considered acceptable?

It's not unusual to have a little gap under a factory-installed Novak rear sight (or a slide that is pre-machined for a Novak sight) due to the tolerances between the machining of the slide and the sights. It doesn't affect the fit or function of the sight.
A custom installation should have little to no gap under it.

Thank You Dave,
It is a factory installation so I guess that would be acceptable...
