Hello all,

I just picked-up my second SA and I have a couple questions of the more experienced SA owners out there. It is a US Model, all steel, with a 2 tone finish. It has a blue slide and OD frame, high visibility 3 dot sights, and a ambo. safety. The slide stop, safeties, grip safety, etc., etc. are blue steel. The trigger is a skeletonized composite trigger. The weapon was made in 2002. The pics. I've seen have of the UCs all have Novak sights. I wish I could post a pic, but I don't have a digital camera yet. (I never thought my several Nikon 35mms would ever be obsolete!)

Anyway...I'm very pleased with the weapon. I'm sure it's had some 'smithing work on it. Is this a standard SA configuration on my UC?

Thanks,
John

Just saw my typo. Just to clarify, my Springer is an Ultra Compact model.

Good luck with your Springer, I have a Springer EMP that is one of my favorite carry guns. In so far as it being a U.S. Model, all Springers start there life in Brazil. According to the model, some are fitted and finished here.
However they are good guns that are backed solidly by the company.

The "US" was a typo. I meant UC for Ultra Compact. Sorry....

I sounds like is is has a nice configuration. I am not sure if it is OEM the way it is. Call SA customer service with the serial number and they can tell you how the pistol was spec'ed at production.

Then you will know for sure what - if anything - was added as a modification.

the carbon fiber tigger is not SA specs based on all the ones I have - three hole - aluminum trigger.

Thanks, Longslide. I'll do that. I don't think the 2 tone finish is OEM. Looks like it might be Duracoat, or whatever it's called. Regardless, I like the looks of the pistol, so I hope this finish is durable. I'll post a pic as soon as I can borrow my daughter's digital camera.

Being new to SA, and having zero problems with my Mil Spec, I've never had occasion to call SA's customer service. I hear they're pretty good...as opposed to what I'm reading about Kimbers. Whew...it's BRUTAL over at the "Kimber Haters" thread!

SA customer service is great! They will be sure to let you know just what you have and how it was spec'd at birth :)
