I couple of weeks ago I got a lot of responses about my Pahrump frame High Standard Slide Officers model not going into battery. Ray at Pahrump told me to send it to him and I did. I got it back yesterday with a complete tune-up (extractor included)fitted slide to frame, throat polish and ramp polish. They fired 14 rounds through it with no problems. I plan to test it this weekend. Only thing is when I got it back the front sight was all but falling out to the right. I took it out, cleaned dovetail and sight with alcohol and blue thread locked into the same marked position it originally was in. I'll report back later, but it seems I was dealt with more than farely.

IT STILL DOESN'T GO INTO BATTERY. I think I have a High Standard Pahrump Door Stop!

I think that

you need to chill if you want great results-

tell us what ammo and mags you are using -

in *general* this stuff is usually more simple than could have been believed. And *in general* everyone here and probably Parhump (Ivan's folks?) want and believe that they are doing "GOOD".

Please bear in mind that many of the expert folks here have been 1911 pros, or 1911 surgeons for maybe as long as you have been aware of guns. Me?.. only 38 yrs., there are others here with much more, and much better. You won't know this, but the 100 yr. old 1911 has only - -last 10 yrs? been well known in and of all of its parts, makers, histories, and modifications. You wouldn't believe how little was pub;ished in gun rags, or known by gun stores in 1970.

Flow with it - you'll get there.

Can't help you much without the details. We need to have an accurate description of the condition of the pistol when the stoppage occurs. What ammo are you using? What mags? Does the stoppage happen with the first rounds in the mag, the last ones? any round in the mag?

Give us details if you want us to help you.

I did all of that on an earlier post before I sent it to Pahrump. I'm sufficiantly chilled where it comes to Pahrump. They sent it back Fed-Ex Ground and I found it sitting just inside my gate in the middle of my sidewalk. After I cleaned off what looked like a complete coat of vaseline and proper lubed it. It had not been fixed. I'll mess with it myself and/or take it to a gunsmith I trust.
