First up was the Federal HST 230gr +P ammo I plan to carry in the Escort, plus the end of a box of DoubleTap's.

I am considering switching to a standard pressure ammo for this gun. It is a tad violent with +P. It took extreme effort to not jerk when shooting it after a few mags of the +P.

This was at 7 yards. I also shot a box at 10 yards, but the target looked like it had been sprayed with a shotgun...

The 10.5 ounce loaded weight difference between the STI and my Para is very noticeable, both when carrying (in the same holster/belt) and shooting. +P out of the Para is no problem.

Very nice looking firearm, and nice shooting as well.

Which Para are you comparing the STI to?

OPS, the steel officers sized Para that no one knows about. :)

I thought the Blackwatch was the Officers size Para? The OPS has the Commander length barrel, correct?

LOL, no, the OPS has an officers frame and slide, 3.5" barrel and all. The LTC has a commander slide/barrel. I don't think Para makes a pistol with an officers frame and commander slide.

Of course, you are correct. My apologies.

I am thinking of purchasing an escort. Can you post pics of the frame to slide fit for me please. What do you tihnk of the overall fit, finish accuracy and reliability

The fit is tight, but not target pistol tight. Accuracy is excellent, reliability is excellent now (went back to STI), fit is very good, and the finish is ok. The duracoated frame on mine has a small chip in it, and the blued slide scratches like most blued pistols. It is fine for what I want it for, but if carried it will not stay new looking.

I would buy one again.
