I want to paint my colt Defender's frame Black and not sure what to use.

Are the defenders not hard Anodized? How does the feed ramp wear without
this hard coating? I've also heard about EGW installing a steel ramp insert in alloy guns. Has anyone had this done and does it decrease reliability?
