Got a Pro last week. Took it to the farm and practiced a few draws from concealed in my Milt Sparks Horse Versa max 2.
I shot one box and have scratches on the slide already. I don't mind getting some honest wear over time, but that has to be a world record. The scraches are on the upper left side of the slide and appear to be several small lines into but not all the way thru the finish. But one area is down to bare metal. I did have a knife with a metal clip in my pocket, but don't see how I would have put the gun down that low.

I was expecting some holster wear to slowly wear down the finish on the high spots. But this looks like a nail was in the holster with the gun??

I do love the gun, I have never had any gun scratch that easy.
Is that a common issue, or did I do something wrong?

Yes I know, "at least I got it over with" already

Hi

Pictures?

I sure would check the holster in a big hurry. I have never seen one, but people claim to have new holsters show up with things like staples in them. :scared: :scared: A bit of sand or grit is always a possibility.

If the scratches are to high for the holster the same thing applies to the shirt you were wearing. A jacket with a zipper on it might also be a villain here.

Check the holster. I've had lots of holster time with my Pro, mulitiple draws during ipsc competition and combat handgun courses... and just practicing draws from a kydex holster. It's held up remarkably well. The most visible wear on the Black T is on the barrel. I also have marks where the slide moves on the frame, down to bare metal. But that's to be expected.

Sounds strange that you would have so much wear this quickly, especially with the Black T finish... it's very tough.

Sounds very odd for Black T to show that kind of wear this early. Hundreds of draws with my Pro and there is little to no indication of holster wear yet.
