A while back I inherited a number of 1911 slides...and I know basic information about them, but Im not totally sure about what they are...I was just wondering if anyone can help me ID these and give me a value for insurance purposes. (I've been robbed before.)

There are three slides that I know about... they are an Ithaca, an Auto Ordnance, and I believe a Colt. Im just not sure about whether or not the Colt and Auto Ordnance are Commercial or Gov't. I have three barrels as well 2 High Standards and 1 Colt...anyway if you can just take a look and tell me exactly what it is I have I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is the lot of them all together.

The Ithaca and Colt sides are military. Ithaca is WWII and the colt is late WWI. All three barrels are WWII..... 'HS' High Standard were used in Ithaca, Remington Rand and US&S production, and the Colt is a Type 6 barrel also WWII production. I don't know much about Auto Ordnance, but I can only assume it is a commercial slide, as they had no military production contracts for M1911A1 related parts, components or otherwise.

The Colt and Ithaca slides appear to be refinished. The barrels may be, too. I just can't tell from the photos. The barrels were originally full blued.
Assuming the bores are all good in the barrels, I'd estimate value to be about $400 for all of it together. That's figured at about $75 per slide, $75 for the Colt barrel and $50 each for the High Std. barrels.
If slides were complete with sights and internals, as well as being original finish...value would be quite a bit higher. Obviously some people will value higher; others lower.
I think the value of these parts is for use in project guns built up for shooters. The parts may be solid, but original finish with condition is required to have any real collector value.
BTW, I'm simply guessing on the value of the Auto Ordnance slide. It is a commercial piece. I see the entire Auto Ord pistols for sale in nice condition for about $400 at many gun shows.
