Hello,
I recently got my hand on series 70. She's having problem ejecting cases along with that she's not loading the rounds properly. I wonder if anyone could recommend me to fix these problems. Along with it all i got a new set of wolff's springs kit consider the guide rod spring i presumed it call in english and firing pin spring. The guide rod spring was a little longer but fits perfectly. Some how the firing pin spring does not fit it was too long and wouldnt compress to sit. Oh it's a 16.5lb spring kit.
thanks for your help. sorry for my english.

Welcome to these Forums. There's no need to apologize for your English. It's a whole lot better than my Thai.
We call the "guide rod spring" a "recoil spring." A new one will always be a little longer than a used one, because the used one has been compressed. You may be trying to fit the firing pin spring in backwards. You might try turning it the other way and see if it fits better.
There are plenty of good and knowledgeable folks here, and I'm sure they will try to help.

Thanks Frank for the quick reply. the firing pin spring was over stretch and was alot shorter than the new wolff spring.
The gun also have problem with jam. Not feeding properly.. i assume its might be the barrel, ejector and extractor but not sure. Thailand still lag a good gunsmith or i just dont know one that good not that i know any. If anyone could advice where to properly fix this problem. I would like to be shooting my gun with fun not with constant interruption :(
thanks again

Before you blame the gun you should eliminate the other possible causes. Has the gun been cleaned and lubricated properly? What type of ammo are you shooting? New properly stored ammo from a reliable manufacturer? Use ball ammo(full metal jacket) no hollow point etc. Next I would purchase some extra replacement known quality components. Compare your part with the new. Since you are able to replace springs, you can replace many parts yourself. The weak link in any self loading weapon with a magazine is.....the magazine. Use only Colt magazines until you get the problem fixed. Like any mechanical device you may sometimes have more than one problem. So start with good ammo then good magazine etc. If that doesn't work and no one else on this forum can help, you will have to send it to a reliable gunsmith. But at least you will have learned more about your weapon.
Good Luck!!!!

Your english is understandable, and that is more then I can say for some whose primary language is english. MCMIX and the others have provided sound advice. If there advice does not resolve the problem, take photo's of the failures to eject and failures to feed and post them in order for the members to diagnose the problem. You can find how to post picks in the FAQ on the upper part of this page.

That sounds more like a lack of tension on the extractor or incorrect tension.
There is a section in the tech area that details how to set the tension, I just don't have it available as a link right now.

Fresh Beginning,
Welcome to the forum, Sir.
Question - has anyone done any grinding, polishing, etc. to your gun; specifically the feed ramp in the frame or the throat of the barrel?
Next, you need to establish a "baseline" health of your pistol. Clean it meticulously and change all your spings so that none are in question. Mark your magazines so that you can record which are problematic. Note which ammo you are using when you experience these problems. Careful observation of what you do may indeed show where the problem lies, and it could (and usually is) quite simple to fix.

Gentlemen,
Thanks for all your advice. The people at the local range swap the ejector pin for me yesterday and swap the spring down to the 15lb set. She seem to be working fine. I used full metal jacket Thai Arms rounds and some winchester both were going fine until the firing pin hit but do not fire. The recommendation i got from the guys at the range was to go on ahead and start modifying my colt. There a slight problem with my slide eating into the frame he say. I will get the picture on this as soon as i can. I'm sending her off to bangkok to a proper gunsmith up there. I will keep you guys up to date with whats going on. Along with this i'm getting another colt on the way. A series 80 this time.
