Had this on layaway, and couldn't wait no longer. Had to bring her home.

Another SCGM. Two-tone no less. She is slightly used... and not a mark on her. Obviously came from a good home. I've got a couple of mods planned for her... hopefully I can wait until after the holidays!

You've got two of those fine pistols... I'm jealous!
It's surprisingly hard to take a decent photo of a piece of shiny metal, but I think yours looks pretty good.

Nice pair!
What mods would you like to have done? I'm always interested in what people would like to have done to their pistol to make it better for them.

Thanks Gent's. The biggest issue I have with this pistol is the smooth plated front strap. It always seems oily and slick. I just couldn't come to grips with having the new one cut. So, now enter this nice used one... I'll start off by having the front strap checkered @ 30 LPI. I also like the newer grips, full length to the mag well. I think I will ask the Custom shop if I can get a set with the Custom Shop Medallions. That should keep me happy for a while. Eventually I'm thinking of having another slide fitted with night sites for the winter indoor IDPA low/no-light matches.

I don't know if I've ever seen Custom Shop Medallions. If you get them, post a pic, I'd like to see what those look like.

VERY NICE Tommy D! I like the two-tone...i'm not usually a fan of that look, but it looks great on the Colt! I like "magwell cut" grips too. Here are mine from Esmeralda (on my two-tone Kimber):

I think the mods are a great idea; "cutting into" a used gun would be a lot easier for me too! Front-strap checkering is going to look awesome on a SCG :D!

Me either!!! They sound great though!!! Any info????

Here's what the Custom Shop Medallions look like...

They would be the same size as the standard Colt Medallions... but with the Custom Shop logo... something a little different from your standard Colt medallions.

That's pretty nice. How far apart are the serial numbers?
Do the triggers feel ab out the same?
My hard chrome SCG has a lighter trigger than the 2 tone does, but both are good.

I too would like my front strap checkered on my Gov't. But since it is a custom shop '1 of 500' I have hesitated to do so. I have settled on the Pierce finger grove grip adapter. This goes under your grips and gives you a nice gripping surface to your frontstrap simular to Houge grips but I like the fact that you can use nice grip panels with it. I like them. I have made some changes to this gun but nothing that cannot be put back to stock. I still hope to get up nerve enough someday to checker the frontstrap. 44 Man

The numbers are 549 apart over ~3 years.
And, the trigger on the older one feels a little lighter.
I hope to get out to the range soon and do a comparison.

I can't blame you 44Man, I wouldn't want to do irreversable modifications to a very limited Custom Shop work of art. It looks like you have come up with a good solution to the smooth front strap.
I had my Kimber checkered and really like the feel, I'm looking forward to having that on this SCGM, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it to the first one.

Tommy D those are great looking pistols. Think I prefer the look of the one in the holster personally. Plans are to make this my next Colt purchase.

Gorgeous. What is the dual finish,Nickel,Stainless, Chrome? It looks like satin and bright, right?
